Sunderland Record Another Home Win

Sunderland received Wolverhampton Wanderers this past Saturday the 18th of October.

Sunderland were coming back from a 2-nil loss to Manchester United and hoping for a better result as they prepared to receive the Wolves.

Wolverhampton on the other hand walked into the match as the only team in the Premier League to have zero victories under their belt this season. Coming off a tie with Brighton, Wolverhampton were sitting bottom of the table with only 2 points.

Unfortunately Wolverhamptons situation wasn’t going to get any better.

Match Highlights

Sunderland would have a dodgy start as the Wolves would put the pressure on and create several chances.

An offside flag would deny Sunderland their first gol at the nine minute mark. Though Sunderland would not be denied.

At the 16th minute of the match a combination between Mukiele and Hume in the keepers box would put Sunderland ahead in the match 1-0.

At the 27th minute the post would deny Sunderland a second.

Wolverhampton would have more ball posession thorought the second half of the match and create more chances to challenge Sunderlands keeper. Though the 1-0 scoreline would stand until the 92nd minute.

On injury time, a botched Wolverhampton corner would leave Talbi running up the pitch at full speed with defenders running back franticly.

This panic would cause an error form the defensive line as Wovles defender, Krejci, would put it past his own keeper in an attempt to stop Talbi’s cross. Johnstone could only watch as the ball gingerly passed by him into the back of his net, as his inertia had him heading in the other direction.
